I just made a decision of not going to Germany with my friends , It is not easy to give up the chance of enjoying the amazing view of Rhine , moreover ,it is with some of my best friends.

However, still I believe that I made the right decision.

See, spss, what I give up for you....., and I will get what I want ,for the sake of what I give up.

But I can still continue my virtue globe travelling in the book I mentioned.I will do the same thing in my life, or better. I have had that dream when I saw "Hal and Roger" 10 years ago. In fact, a bunch of dreams at that time were trapped in a corner of mind. It is the right time to release now.

Ok, let me post one of my favorite poem here:

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to dust.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.

I just saw a email forwarded by my friend, it is like a encouraging farewell letter for the graduates. I appreciate it very much, and share it here:

For the past two years, all of you have been learning new things, you have been traveling to new places, you have been meeting new people, and you have seen many different things. And yet, you might ask, "what should I do next?"

You are afraid. You are afraid to leave. You are afraid that everything you have done will be useless. You are afraid because you think that you are not the best student. You are afraid because of your scores. One thing that you can do first, among the many things, is to be proud.

What ever you have studied, you have to be proud with your effort. You might feel that your effort is not good enough, but you should be proud to be graduates of TU Delft because you may be the first person in your family to graduate a master degree. You might be the pioneer for your cousins, brothers, sisters and even your children in the future. You might think that your effort is nothing or useless, but be aware that the last two years can be the most important phase in your life. You will never know that the path you have chosen so far will influence others. They might choose the same path, they might climb the same ladder, and they might share the same motivation and spirit. You will never know. One thing for sure,It is very special.

Thirty years from now?you might still remember the names of your classmates. You might still remember the most beautiful girl in your faculty, or you might still remember all of your scores? Will your scores be so important? It is not your scores that will define you. It is the efforts to get the scores that matters. Scores are only number, but your knowledge, your experience, your new friends, your interest are more than just numbers. What should you do next?

A very simple question can also have simple answers. Be your self. No matter who you are and what scores you get?.Be your self?.Do what you like to do. Do what you know best. Experience new things. When you open your window next morning, or when you go to new places, you will see that the world is there for you. It waits for your accomplishment; it waits for your efforts. The world will be your "new classroom", full of teachers, full of exams, full of classmates?day after day, year after year.?
?
Yes my friend, you might have finished your thesis and you might graduate today, but learning never ends. What should you do next?

It is you who knows the answer. You will decide who you are going to be and where do you want to go. If you cannot see any path, don't ever think that God did not show you the way. He might want you to create your own path, and leave your own trail on it, so others might follow.

When your children go to college, please remember this day, your graduation day, remember your pride, and remember your accomplishment.

Good luck Class of 2002!!!
